Dongvile's neighborhoods: the original 1887 town plat and its additions, seven planned developments and one manufactured home community.

The original town

Original Town of Dongvile

The 1887 plat, laid out square to the railroad around the courthouse square. Alleys, deep lots and porches. Streets are named for food, roughly north to south: Gravy, Biscuit, Pecan Pie, Sweet Tea, Chili Dog, Queso, Brisket, Hot Pocket Way, Depot, Railroad Ave, Tater, Okra, Jalapeño, Cornbread and Frito.

North Addition

Platted in 1909 north of Pecan Pie St, when the original town ran out of north.

Westside Addition

West of W 5th St. Platted in 1921 by the D&S Ry. for railroad families, several of whom are still here and would like you to know it.

Railroad Addition

South of the tracks along Tater St and below. Home to the Co-op Gin, Dad Bod Memorial Park and the most train horns per capita in Brisket County.

Planned developments

Each planned development (PD) has its own zoning ordinance and a homeowners association. Covenants and mailbox colors are enforced by the HOA, not the City.
